Hi Greg,
I've never disassembled either the Lims or Koni shocks to see what sort
of seals are used, but maybe they're something that could be obtained at
a bearing warehouse. Cycle Garden lists rebuilding the shocks in their
restoration section (for $300 exchange). Maybe they have or can get the
rebuild kits?
I tried to get Koni rebuild kits (for the original 76 series as used on
the V7 Sport) from Proven Products in Australia, but they only wanted to
sell me new 7610P Ikon (former Koni) shocks as used on the LeMans IV.
Maybe someone on this list knows where to get kits for both brands?

But, the rebuilding question get's more toward the tinkering side in me that just likes to figure stuff out. Perhaps it's more trouble (or more money) than it's worth to rebuild a pair of 30+ year old shocks. But if it's not, then I'll be able to entertain myself for hours! |
