Hi, all. Any word from the guys who are trying out the
electronic ignitions from Harpers?
I was browsing through the latest Northern Tool and
Equip. catalogue and came accress this: ELECTRONIC
IGNITION UNIT REPLACES POINTS AND CONDENSER. Starts
small engines faster and easier! Fires spark plug 5 to
14 times with each impulse. Fits most 2- and 4-cycle,
air-cooled engines. Maintenance-free. About the size
of a quarter. Price: $13.99.
I suppose that wouldn't work in my Guzzi, but what I
can't figure out is what tells this thing when to
fire. If it can be used in a variety of engines, how
will it know what to do and when? How will it know
when to increase rpm? The picture of it doesn't show
anything that looks adjustable or variable.
My son and I got a good soaking coming home from his
hunter safety course today. It was mighty cloudy when
I left home, but I couldn't resist taking the goose.
Such a fine machine!
