ok Scott-
left cyl. ran HOT for some reason. hand behind the muffler said "hmmm- low compression on this side and the exhaust gas feels cool, but the head is an egg fryer." comp. test was o.k. new head pipe turned blue [spotty, ugly, blue]. seemed to run o.k., but obviously something was wrong [yeah, i'm a little slow....]
drained the rt. carb into a babyfood jar and measured it. samething on the left side....VIOLA!!! about a tablespoon full of gas drained out. a more careful look at the float level revealed that the left one was maybe 1/8in. higher than the rt. [viewed upsidedown]. tweaked the stop, and ya wouldn't believe the power gain! shame about the chrome.....
