They are very tiny bumps inside the ring grooves. Hard to
see. On my bike, the top ring has one at about 11:00 and
the lower ring has one at about 5:00. Like I noted in my
reply to GH, these are out of a G-5 or CX-100. If you
have an older, iron sleeved 949 conversion, you may likely
have these. A couple of guys told me this is how many 949
conversions were done in years back. Sleeve the stock
cylinders and use 88mm pistons from a G or CX.
