That is WHY I said check the OTHER possible causes .He also said the
readings were the same from side to side. It is best to check out the
easiest most likely causes before digging into the innards.
I also already said there are a lot of Guzzis running around with 190
PSIG compression readings. There are also a LOT of compression gauges
that read 15 to 20 psig HIGH . Bourdon tube gauges can read higher as
they age. I just would reccomend checking the EASY more LIKELY causes
than tear apart an engine with good compression side to side. and tear
into carbon with wire brushes and scrapers.
I have 2 Eldos and they read from 180 to 190 on CALIBRATED pressure
gages. They BOTH run excellently. Improperly set timing is a far more
common cause of pinging than carbon,even at 190 PSIG.
