i'm sure it's fine. you've sorted the heavy current draw (starter) just make
sure all other earth points ie. generator, lights, regulator etc. are all
grounded & they all link up.
i'd guess they are ok, or you'd know by now :-)

I skipped the tray all together and took the negative lead from the battery straight to one of the transmission nuts precisely because of tray paint issue.
