Rick,
The cylinders are offset. One cylinder is slightly more forward than the
other to account for the con rods being beside each other on the crank. I'm
not sure which cylinder is more forward...I guess I could go into the garage
and look but I am too lazy. Someone will have the answer :-)
I am assuming that the longer header goes on the most forwards cylinder.
