I have only seen it used. But it is chunks of soda. Literally. and it breaks
down into a fine powder as it is used.

It breaks down better with less chance of stray peices in nooks and crannies. just a thought. oh and the heads (combustion chamber) I'd leave alone if possible. too many places for blast medium or carbon to block up an oil line. Unless you want to spend the extra time making absolutely sure all the crannies in the rather rough casting on these fine machines is absolutely clean. As for keepin the oxidation off the cases....don't let it sit... ;-}
