Thanks to all who responded about the carb problem. Tonight
over theplanning to switch carbs between cylinders, but decided to go
time stuck aoffending carb once more. I disassembled it again, and this
backneedle or toothpick through every orifice I could find. I put it
pilottogether, and lo and behold, no more problem. I adjusted the
was soscrews, and the thing settled down to a beautiful smooth idle! I
onlyoverjoyed, I went out for an hour's ride in the dark. Now my
callproblem is the leaky gas cap, for which I will give MG cycle a
make(thanks, Tom). It's nice to get this bike running again after one year. I will
some comments on the finished product.bearing
Mine is a disk-brake Eldo, and I added a second disk using a
carrier from an 850T and a spacer made by Bob Nolan (I think). This
thing will stop on a dime. I had heard that with a single disk, thethe
master cylinder piston was too large (15 mm) for a single disk,
result being a "wooden" feel owing to the lack of mechanicaladvantage.
Adding the second disk really cures this problem.spare.
This bike has a 1000cc kit and a B-10 cam. There is torque to
I had intended to use 36 mm carbs as well, but couldn't find away to
make them fit with the existing side covers, so used the existinghas a
VHB30's.
I got a reproduction dual seat from Moto International, which
fiberglass pan. This seat is hard as h*ll! If it doesn't soften up athese
little, I will have to get the original seat re-done by Sargent's or
someone else, because this repro seat is as hard as a board!
I got MAC slashcut mufflers from Josh at MG Classics, and
mufflers are LOUD! I have a T-3 with Dunstall replica mufflers,which I
consider to be somewhat antisocial, and I think these MAC's arelouder.
I will have to call Mark to see if there is any way I can tone themdown
a bit before I get run out of town! I like the looks of the slashcuthave a
mufflers, which I had on the Eldo I had back in the 70's, which I
remember as being quite quiet.
I will get some pictures in the next week or so. Does anyone
simple way to post them?==================================================
Thanks again,
