My floorboards are AAAs so, they kept the regular shift pattern I
guess...maybe a PO mod as well. My shit pattern is usual and quite regular.

Factory floorboards or "Police floorboards" by default come with 1 down (3
or 4 up), that was a requirement by the police forces, so there is no need
to
modify them.

Modifying the shift linkage in this way seems a good idea to me on bikes
with the factory footboards as it moves the operating lever much closerthe support bushing, as well as making the shit pattern the nowuniversalone down, four/three up. Don't know about footpeg models.of
I did this on my Cali some years ago & it works fine. I probably have a
drawing of the modified shaft somewhere too, if anyone wants to see it.

Actually, you would have to modify the shaft which the shift lever is
connected to. It is easy enough to flip the actuator arm on the backthethe trans around the other way, but then the corresponding lever onthinkpivot shaft will be off by about 5 inches. The only way that I canisof getting it to work would be to move the position of the arm (whichwouldwelded to the shaft) about 5 inches to the left in order to get it to
line up with the new location of the actuator. This means that youover,either have to grind off the weld on the existing arm and move itsetor better yet, fabricate a new arm and weld it in the new position.
Here is a link to a photo of the shift linkage on my Ambo, which isPolice.jpgup with the footboards and consequently the "reverse" shift pattern.
