<P>Thanks dude(s),</P>
<P>I would like to keep the chrome panels as well so I just wanted to get a second opinion. Chris, I will try to get to Lenoir this Thursday and let you take a look at the chrome, and if there is a way I can improve the look of it then I will just repaint the tank and fenders. My chromed tool boxes look so good but they are a bit nicer looking than the tank panels so I wanted to see if I could get them to look more uniform. If the weather is clear, I will ride up there Thursday.</P>

<DIV></DIV>>John-
<DIV></DIV>>I'd repaint the tank without rechroming (thats what I did on my bike
<DIV></DIV>>anyway). Personally I think the chrome panels are definitive of the
<DIV></DIV>>loopframes too and I feel it totally ruins the look to have a solid
<DIV></DIV>>painted
<DIV></DIV>>tank. When we met, I didn't think your chrome looked bad.
<DIV></DIV>>The reason for the chrome panels is (drum roll.....) so you don't
<DIV></DIV>>wear off
<DIV></DIV>>the paint with your knees! My guess is that Guzzi didn't like the
<DIV></DIV>>look of
<DIV></DIV>>tank panels (which do the same function), so they took the
<DIV></DIV>>short-n-easy way
<DIV></DIV>>around...chrome the whole tank and only polish what ya want to
<DIV></DIV>>see...paint
<DIV></DIV>>the rest. At least back then (and there) it was short-n-easy...no

<DIV></DIV>>Of course it's always free to leave it be...
