Chris,

Was your bike the one at Guzzi Day with the twin disks?
I rode my gray Eldo with the spiffy steel boxes and solo seat. My ridin'
buddy came on his just (as in the weekend before) rebuilt Eldo. His is red
with white fenders.
Sorry we didn't get to meet. I had to leave to get to Charleston that
afternoon. Maybe next year, eh?

I got the nut off my flip cap easy. Unfortunately, it stripped the bolt
when I put it back on, so I'm planning on rebuilding it. Mine also would
not close all the way on my tank. I saw a '73model with the same that
worked fine. I figue the hinge point has been bent and need adjusting.
(a joke)
What's the difference betwen adjusting and bending?
You can charge $25 an hour for adjusting ;)

I'm closing in on finishing the Ambo.
The tank is blasted and the wiring is slowly coming along. Got the battery
for 15 bux at WalMart.

Questions:
I fought with 2 gas caps before I figured out that I indeed have the flip
up
with lever cap type tank. Fortunately I had a sevicable one on a battered
old tank I had. Popped that sucker in place after a quick run on the
buffer....yowsa! One problem. There seems to be an 1/8" gap in the rubber
gasket under the cap. It's on the left (downhill) side and if I put the
bike
on its side stand it will leak. It appears the the bolt under the cap is
peened so you cant take the nut off. true? shoud that gasket have that gap?
Are these caps rebuildable?

I got the newer petcocks and adaptors from Moto International. You guys
running these, do you need gaskets in the adaptors?
