Howdy all!
Mine fits fine without the front cover cut, but probably had the pulley
changed before I got it. I used to own a type III VW and I remember the
pulley being split (like the loop's lower pulley). The lack of a locating
pin has not seemed to make much difference, I just have to line it up
carefully if I move it.
