Hello Ted and all,
I had the same problem, installed the new beather..helped some but did
not solve the problem. Had good compression in both cylinders 170 left,
165 right. I finally dropped the oil pan and found small particle of
chrome, DAMN!! Pulled the cyliders, left had a very small area about the
size of a dime missing chrome, the right side had about 1/2" missing for
about 3/4 of the way around the cylinder. I ordered all parts and hope
to have her back on the road late next week. Good luck.

Hi Ted, I was having the same problem...seems that a new breather has help substantially. I'm with Skip in thinking that the 30 + year old flapper spring get's weak and allows too much air-oil mist into the breather - thereby overwhelming its capacity. So, you might just want to give Rick and Gordon a call Monday morning and see if that doesn't take care of it for you. You could also perform a leak down test...to see how much is actually getting past the rings, etc. Edward Walton wrote:
