| I did exactly this on my 73 Eldo. The hose is really tough stuff and the extra abrasion protection probably isn't necessary. When you run the hose up to the dash, make sure to get it against, or as close as possible to the steering pivot to minimize hose motion while turning. I
mounted a brass "T" at the back of the guage and a Buick sender so I had
both analog and idiot light.

I'm installing a mechanical oil pressure gauge on the Ambassador so that
I might keep track of, well, oil pressure :> The kit came with some very
tightly coiled, small diameter, hard plastic hose. I was able to get it pretty straight by dipping it in boiling water (as per the instructions that came with the kit). Worked like a charm.
I'm contemplating running the plastic hose inside a length of rubber vacuum hose from the engine block up to the gauge in order to afford the
line greater protection. Any thoughts on this or related suggestions?
