It's my understanding that a number of Eldo drives were machined improperly so the fluid level plug is too low. I have each vintage. I agree w/ those who recommend premeasuring the fluid b4 adding.
And yes you have to pull the sump cover to drain.

Is the nut on the back of the drive a level or a drain? With my bike up on its centerstand and the bike in gear idling, the rear drive makes some "clunky" noises. Has anyone else notice if that is normal or not?
