I agree that a lot of the fun is in the planning so I won't try to plan
your route for you, but I strongly agree that the 250 is awesome,
especially near the VA/WV line. Monterey has a nice down-home diner I
recommend. Be aware that riding the 250 will add significant time to
your trip.
As far as the BRP goes, IMHO it's a two edged sword. It's nice to avoid
truck traffic, but it's such a rarified atmosphere it starts to bother
me after a while. I enjoy putt-putting through small towns on my route
and "seeing the world". The BRP is more of a nature trail.
If you happen to be near Christainsburg VA and need a place to stay, let
me know. We'll happily make a place for you (unless we've already left
for the rally!).
