Dennis,
Even tho you replaced the connectors, corrosion can do some crazy things
to the internals of your wiring. Run a jumper from the one end of the
wire to its opposite end and see what happens. Ohming out can still give
you a reading, but when it comes down to providing the needed amps it's
no good.
