Yep, it's got to be on a straight and flat stretch of road...good thing
I now live in Florida! The Howard Franklin can get a bit dicey in high
winds, too.

Maybe you should try it down the back side of the Skyway Bridge instead of the gandy. Maybe the 150 foot incline may give you enough Inertia to hit 100, but that would be cheeting plus if you get a bad cross wind up there it may blow you over the side. I have been going over the bridge in 30 mph gust and got pulled around. My paint and tires aren't original, and neither are the iron liners in my cylinders or the K&N air filters attached to slightly increased jets in the 29mm carbs. So, my Ambassador isn't strickly stock - but it's close enough for me (and I am the one challenging myself here! :>). I'd be interested in trying out a different cam someday (perhaps on a T/T3/G5/SP - which is what I'd like my next project bike to be), but I know that I don't know enough yet to make that happen. The propoganda from back in the day claims: "Guzzi Ambassador V-Twin shattered 19 International speed records - 100 Km record - 135.73 mph, Motor Cycle News reported speeds up to 150 mph on the Monza race circuit 'straight'". But I'm sure that was done on a lightened and improved version - although I don't know any details??? At any rate, from what I've heard, 100 mph doesn't seem out of the question. Perhaps fairing removal and some free flowing pipes are all that I need to break my own personal 'barrier'. You'll have to try harder to earn a 'monkey-stompin', Lannis! Thanks for making me smile.
