For my first ride I headed up over a small mountain, maybe 1000 ft. My pace was moderate as the bike was running somewhat poorly due to misadjusted carbs. As I reached the top of the "hill" the left side of the engine let out the most awful racket. I yanked the clutch and the bike died. I pulled the valve covers thinking something had to be floating around in there and everything was normal. Figuring I had little to loose I turned the key and the bike fired right up and I rode it home. Anyone ever experience anything like this? |
I had a similiar problem when I sleeved my 700... I finally figured
out it was seizing. The clearances for cast iron is greater than the
originals. After getting a set of Nikisyl (sp) cylinders, I never had
another problem. This may not be your problem but it sounds similiar
enough to warrant a close look.
