Ted,
The adapter is available from Moto International. I'm still waiting to receive mine from them. Any loop cover will work and yes the 850T tranny has the same battery tray bolt holes. The only thing you would need to change on the tranny would be the rear cover as the speedo drive is facing more towards the middle than towards the outside like on a loop. Folks have also drilled a hole in the battery tray for their speedo cable instead of changing the cover as they can be hard to find. If you do use the 850T motor, make sure it's one that has the internal oil filter otherwise you gain nothing but a displacement increase. Or you can make some new mounts on the frame and just use the motor as is with the alternator.
Paul

Hey Paul, how does the crank adapter work? and can you buy them or do you have to make it?. So the adapter must give you a generater pully mount and the cover would give you the generater mount on the top and the holes to mount the engine to the frame, right!!Can you use any loopframe timming cover to work on the newer 850 engine? Does the 850 t have the same bolt holes on the tranny for the battery tray? I wonder if you could put the 850t engine and tranny in a Ambassador? Is that possible with out too many mods? Thanks for the info
Ted

I'm just going to drop a T3 motor in my other Eldo with the Loop timing cover and the crank adapter. Now I will have one of each. I also plan on putting the alternator conversion on it.

Guzziology has instructions for machining the loop block to take a later |
model pan w/an oil filter. I had it done on an Eldo I restored & it really |
wasn't all that much hassle. Bike is running fine. |
