Subject: Tripometer Reset Cable Mounting

I've got a speedo with a tripometer. The trip reset cable is currently
hanging down under the speedo housing. I am mulling over a few ideas to
mount this cable either in the housing (drilling a hole in the housing
somewhere) or making a bracket and attaching it somewhere near the
speedo housing. My question is, does anybody have a speedo with a
tripometer, and how does it mount? There seems to be a groove under the
reset knob that looks like it accepts a c-clip, but I can't figure out
how I am going to mount this cable to a bracket (or the housing) and
hold it in place/keep it from moving when I turn the knob to reset the
tripometer. Any help, ideas, or better yet, pix would be greatly
appreciated.
