Yep, I've certainly noticed that things rust much more quickly here in
Tampa. It's either that, or a delayed reaction from all the road salt I
*didn't* ride in up in Minnesota. :> At any rate, I've ordered a set of
stainless from Greg Barratt...so that should get my Ambo looking better.
Is yours stashed away for the long, cold winter yet? Or are you trying
to squeeze a few more frozen-finger rides in before hibernation? :>

I took the pin down to the hardware store and found two thin brass
sleeves that slipped over them real tight, then cut to lenght, just shy
of the cotter pin hole.
I believe I used a 3/8 drill bit to enlargen the holes to push the pin
w/brass insert thru. Tight as Dick's hat band!

Sound's like that Florida salt air is playing havoc on the machinery?
