Yes, the third outlet on the breather box is simply a drain for the oil.
Originally, I believe the hose ran down below the transmission and then
accross to the opposite frame rail where it was attached to a special
metal hose holder.
As for the transmission, there should be 2 items on the left side: the
nuetral indicator switch (to which a wire should be attached) and the
bolt that holds the spring loaded selector drum pawl in place. Both of
these items can/do leak oil. The nuetral indicator never should, but
often does...a variety of remedies exist. The selector drum pawl bolt
has a hole drilled in the middle of it that allows excess pressure to be
relieved from the transmission. I don't think a drain hose was
originally fitted to this, but I'm sure you could put one on.

Hi all. On my eldorado, when I got it, there were two hoses tieing the breather to the crankcase. The third outlet (the angled one) had no hose on it. Should this just be a rubber tube for draining oil? (I guess NOT dripping directly in the path of the rear tire) Also, on the left side of the transmission (as you sit on the bike) there is a nozzle that looks like it should have a hose hooked to it, what's that for? (it's smaller than the breather drain tube) Thankee Ted Ward |
