Bob:
The mufflers on my '71 Ambo are originals, they weren't in bad enough
shape to replace when I restored it. I can't speak for the repro
mufflers out now with the larger holes, but my '69 Ambo came with what I
think are period aftermarket mufflers that are open at the back

and it is indeed much peppier and has a nicer throatier sound. Anybody
know what these are?

Hey John, Last year I got some new/used mufflers from Mark. I got the ones
with the bigger holes. On your pics you seem to have the ones with the
smaller holes. Quieter no doubt but do you get the same engine performance?
Reason I am asking is that I am thinking of getting some quieter ones but I
don't want to sacrifice too much performance. Thanks, Bob

Zebee:
National Cycle makes various windshields, the one with a beaded edge
for Harley works just fine, bolts right on, fits the stock brackets
that attach to the top and pinch bolts of the fork if that's what you
got. You can see some pics of it on my Ambo here:

The mounting is adjustable, I can send you a close up picture of it
if you like.
