I believe the acid cleaner is good for removing chrome. Got some pink
liquid from a friend of mine who does air conditioners and he said it
would strip chrome. Haven't tried it yet, but will let everyone know how
it turns out.

Worked great, melted the grease & grime off (no rubbing or scrubbing) and rinsed well with cold water. Just don't get the acid cleaner, make sure it's for alumium.
