Any particular order of putting the bike back together? |
After I got my engine/trans into the frame someone advised me that it's
easier to maneuver the frame onto the engine/trans. Lay the engine down
so it's resting on one cylinder, prop the pan so it's off the table and
then pickup the frame and go. I didn't get to use this advice but it
seems reasonable.
What did you put the frame on to start to mount parts on to frame (without wheels)? I considering using a strong table to put the frame on. Any other suggestions? |
I use a piece of 3/4" plywood on short (~15") sawhorses. All wood, easy
to screw into for mounting any misc fasteners/tiedowns, and disposable.
My Eldo's been up there for over 1 year.
Also thinking of wrapping the bottom of the frame with high density foam plastic sheeting or carpet to protect the bottom of the frame sitting on the table. |
If your frame is powder coated wrapping probably won't be necessary, but
won't hurt.
Ultimatly you'll need some sort of other support to raise the
frame-engine off the table so you can attach forks and wheels etc. I
made a welded steel frame. I've seen other people use an ordinary milk
crate.
