Surfboards are DB's, The AAA are chrome, and OEM are whatever color you
paint them.
The DB's (I think) use the civilian brake/shifter. The AAA have an
outrageously ugly shifter and brake pedal. These can be replaced with
Guzzi ones relatively easily- requires drilling a hole and getting some
shims. AFAIK, the AAA hardware uses the OEM civilian brake crossover
rod, but comes with a brake-to-crossover connector. The shift linkage
is replaced in the AAA boards as well- it's not a bad design, but the
shifter sure is ugly (no offense to those with AAA's ; ^)- I have them
myself) Oh, the other thing about AAA is that they have the
front-to-rear tube (like OEM boards) to mount the boards. The problem
is that they set a little too close to the frame, and you can't mount
header clamps onto the exhaust. I've tried both styles (solid and
figure 8) and neither fit in there.
BTW, there was a really beat-up set on ebay recently - maybe still
there- missing the shifter and brake. A set from a tonti frame should
work in this application with little effort.
Cheers,
Jason
