Took the cap off of the tank and gas still wouldn't flow down. Will keep an eye on it as fuel in the lower lines thins out. Sometimes when I ride it feels like the motor is starving for fuel, wonder if the fuel is flowing strong enough? Don't know what else to check. |
together. Initially it was because I had used BUNA petcock gaskets,
which disintegrated under the influence of petrol. I also had problems
with the Viton gasket that I later tried, until I backed off on the
preload pressure for the petcock springs. Turns out that the spring
pressure was so high with the packing nuts cranked all the way in that
the rotors in the petcocks would actually shred the rubber as they were
turned. The torn gackets would block the flow of gas from the petcocks
and the bike would starve for fuel at any speed over 45 MPH.
