Bought 7 weight fork oil yesterday, will change fork oil soon. Has anyone noticed a difference in dampning with different weight oils? Should I remove the spacers from the fork springs? If yes, how do I get to the springs? Keith Ruff 71 Police Ambassador - NJ |
Hi Keith
pls keep me posted on your experience.
I have stock springs and no inserts. When I got the bike a few years ago,
the front end bottomed out, I thought too easily.
I put in what I thought was heavier weight oil to dampen it out more. I
didnt notice any change.
I put in 20W-50 motor oil thinking that I was getting the 50 weight but
someone from the list pointed out that since the oil is always cool it will
act like 20W not 50W . I have not gone back and changed anything.
Good Luck
