Sounds like your bearing turned inside the flange, sheared the
pin & blocked oil to the crank......not a pretty thought.

Yup that's exacly what I thought.
What I don't understand is that there is a lip on the inside of bore that
the pin slides into, the pin has a lip on it also. When these lips meet
there is a gap between the top of the pin and the outside of the flange.
If the top of the pin was flush with the top of the hole then I can see how
once put into the engine it wouldn't budge, but since there is a gap the pin
has room to work it's way up and out until it hits the case. Granted a new
pin is longer then mine now but why the lips? Cause if it is supposed to be
flush with the case the lips wouldn't meet and there should be no reason for
them to be there.

As for the price, ouch.. Anyone have ways around that price?

 1) What is used to hold the pin in place? Locktite, Interference
fit?(hope not 'cause it ain't no interference fit anymore)

 2) Just how pricy is the rr main. I know it can't be cheep. That thing is
huge!

 3) Are the oversized bearings, oversized in the Id and OD. Meaning if I
need to clean up the flange and crank, can I find a bearing to fit?

Its been a long time since I have had a crank out, but as I remember the
pin
slips in from the inside of the bearing & once the crank is installed the
pin
cannot come out. The pin should hold the bearing in alignment with the oil
passageway. Sounds like your bearing turned inside the flange, sheared the
pin & blocked oil to the crank......not a pretty thought.

Very pricey, in the neighborhood of 200+ bucks. Again, I'm going off memory.

Not sure of bearing sizes.

I'll Soon to be getting a reminder of what the crank & bearings look like,
as
the motor from the race bike comes apart.
