My 1973 Eldo didn't have them originally, so I got a set of manifolds
with the ports to use in the rebuild.

I think they must have started putting this on the 73 Eldos as none of my 72's have it. The intake manifold is the curved Aluminum tubing which goes between the carburettor and the cylinder head. On the Eldorado, there is a cast in lug about halfway around the outside curvature. This lug is drilled and tapped to hold a screw. The screw is removed to install a hollow fitting which allows attachment of vacuum tubing. The Ambassador does NOT have this extra cast lug. It is possible to machine a flat on the Ambassador manifold and carefullly drill/tap for a similar plug application. Patrick |
