I have a set of Parts-is-Parts carb springs in my Eldo which reduced my
right hand grip requirements. But I've never been happy with the stock
throttle. I've had the little ball&chain come loose at the most
inopportune time. I can't seem to get the cables (these are new cables)
to give me enough slack at the carb with the tank on - adjusts just fine
with the tank off. The screw that holds the itty bitty cover over the
ball&chain has come off. If I use the throttle lock screw too much, it
has a tendency to loosen the two set screws till the throttle assembly
turns on the bars and I have to stop to fix it. If I turn the set
screws too hard, then the throttle grip hangs up on me....
MG cycle sells the Tommaselli Daytona 2C for $45 which I just might add
to the bike over the winter. Are there any pictures of it 2C somewhere
on the 'Net?

I have to agree with Andy. I had done everything I could think of to ease the throttle action on my Eldo with the original throttle. New cables, disassembly of the throttle assy to clean, careful routing, etc. When I was rebuilding my Eldo over the winter, I decided to put a 2c on the bike, and eliminate that splitting of cables and the mechanical splitter contraption under the tank. A significant difference. It's lighter and smoother. Glad I changed. Dennis Jones |
