I use the throttle lock. A lot. A whole lot.
There are dangers to cutting the carb springs. It can make the throttle
harder to open. Odd but true.
A longer spring with the same loading and a lower rate would work well as
it will not rise in tension as much as stock carb spring. A good hardware
or fastener supply house may be able to help. I have looked around on the
web this evening but haven't found much yet.
Maybe a foot throttle..........
