HI All: I am the new custodian of a 1967 V7. It is serial number 1012 engine; frame 1109. 5000 actual miles. I got it from Al Decker. I have a couple of questions about the bike. What is the consensus on fork oil? Also, where can I get some original petcocks? I'm sure all this has been covered before, but any help would be appreciated. The bike is claimed to be the first one imported to US. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Looking forward to participating in the discussion. Welcome to the group. I have a '69 V7 frame # 1277. My original 700 motor was 1327 or 1347 I can't remember which. I now have a 750 from an ambassador in there (long story). For fork oil, I have had good success using 30 wt fork oil. be sure and measure it going in. I've had mine apart and back together several times (more long stories) as it was pretty rough when I got it. If I can help just ask. Good luck! |
