Ian it sounds like I need to get one sooner rather than later! ;-) BTW do
the police models command a premium?

I just tried to call the owner but he's AWOL, so I'll try again tomorrow
and send the numbers to you if I have some luck.

Regards,

Paul

Paul,

You would be surprised how well these bikes run if properly tuned. Seems
that when they get up into the higher rpms they take on a life of their
own.
The thumping two cylinder turns into a sweet humming machine. Hard to
explain......you will just have to see for yourself :-)

I use to think that the Eldo was the better bike with bigger engine and 5
speed. Also...I thought that they were more collectible. Truth is that the
Ambos have some nice characteristics that were lost in the Eldo. The rear
drive unit is a thing of beauty compared with the Eldos. Also...the single
speedo nacelle on the earlier models really give the bike a nice look as
compared to the two instrument cluster.

I have always said that I would like to have one of each model Loopframe.
Unfortunately there are not too many good deals out there anymore. People
are starting to take notice as to the value of these bikes.

I'll look forward to receiving the numbers.

Regards...Ian

Thanks Ian - I will contact the owner and get the frame / engine numbers
from him and send them on to you.

The reason I asked about the cruising speed is that the thing that bugs me
about my Ducati is that it really isn't up to doing freeway work at all
(it
vibrates a little too much for my liking) - and it doesn't like to cruise
(better for early morning blasts along country roads). I figured the
Guzzi
might be a little more flexible...sounds like it is from what you're
saying, although I suppose a few vibes are to be expected from a 30yo
bike!

Regards,

Paul
