Could stand for:

COSTRUZIONI ELETTRICHE VERONESI S.R.L

there's a www.cev.it website. I don't understand a bit of it, but they
do have a picture of a light bulb.

I thought it stood for crummy electrical variety..as in
what kind of switch is that?
Its the CEV.

I shouldn't complain, as mine has been (ahem) working just fine really.
