Evening Folks,

Welcome to the list Al, Do you have a serial number for that bike? If you
do
I would love to add you to my Loopframe list.

It's 50516, Jan 1972. Purchased from a guy in Aurora, IL who reported it to
his insurance company as stolen after selling it to me. The Illinois
Secretary of State investigators were in my garage 3 times asking questions
and it took over a year to get my title.

As long as the bike hasn't been sitting in water the internals are likely
ok
with exception of the cylinder bores. They were prone to flaking.

They not only flaked, they welded themselves to the pistons. It took about 6
hours to get the rear brake cross shaft loose.

I assume you are talking about the rod that sits between the brake
actuating
cams? I believe that it is a threaded rod that you adjust with a nut. The
part that you attach to the brake cam is attached with a cotter pin and the
threaded rod screws into that. I'm sure someone can send you a schematic
from the parts manual.

dj-@dotis.com sent me a diagram that shows a pin, washer, and cotter pin.
Darn dog must've got 'em. Thanks djo!

Choke levers found at MG Cycle, MG Classics, Etc.....

It's the choke pistons that fit into the carbs, a few "o" rings, and the tiny
washers that fit behind the springs on the idle mixture & slide stop screws.
Actually I didn't know the washers existed till I rebuilt the carbs on a
860GT Ducati.

You can buy Guzzi wrist pins at any of the suppliers above I believe.

The VW wrist pin bushings were purchased at the advice of one of the good
folks a Moto Guzzi Classics. I was just curious whether anyone had personal
experience with them.

Hope all goes well with your project. There are a great many people on this
list that will be able to guide you along the way.

Thanks. I am just about to the point where I can see the light at the end
and will begin working on this thing full time at priority level 1. I've
still got 1 cylinder that's stuck and the starter needs to be repaired.

Thanks Again,

Al Sloan
