Hi Everybody,
I've got a 72 Eldo that sat for over a decade and is in pretty rough shape.
The main mission is to get her running so I can sort out any problems before
actually restoring it. In the meantime I've been sorta cleaning what I can
and have a few questions.
The front brakes have an adjustable piece that fits between the "actuating
levers." Is this piece held in with pins and cotter pins or nuts & bolts?
Where is a good place to buy Dell'Orto parts? My choke pistons were stuck
and I had to damage them to get 'em out.
My wrist pins were sloppy in the bushings and I was told to replace them with
VW bushings. These are goofy looking things with a longitudinal split. Is
there a correct orientation for the split? Anybody ever used these things?
Any suggestions on how to unstick that rear motor mount bolt? The bolt head
is hidden by the footpeg bracket and I've already buggered up the threads on
the other end. The last 3 weekends I hit it with heat & penetrating oil.
This worked on the front one but I was able to get to the bolt head.
That should do it for now. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
