Zer,
Yeah, that's the kind of Loop riding I'm talking about. I just feel that a
lot of people kind of think our Loops are quaint and romantic bikes but not
something you really get out and ride on in all weather, in all conditions
etc. etc. I think people think, and maybe there's some truth to this, that
old bikes in general are not up to the demands of todays' riding. I have
just been thinking lately that since I finally got my Ambo running right
this Summer I have put several 200 mile days on her. If I were to do that
for several consecutive days in a row I would have a traveling Loop on my
hands. And then I figured that my old Loop may be able to do the traveling
that other "long distance" bikes can do. When people think of traveling
they think of Gld Wings or BMWs and I just wanted to appeal to the List to
find out what all you guys thought about this topic. Thanks. Bob

A few years ago me and a buddy did 22 hours in the rain. ~1000 miles. Took
us longer because the first 500 was a loop from redding -Eureka - Yreka
california. Nice ride. then the secodn hald was a straight shot from yreka
to seattle. the second part slowed us up because it was puking rain the
whole way, so we stopped frequently to deal with freeway daze and cold. I
was on my BMW /5 with clubman bars, no fairng and wearing a leather jacket
and rain pants.

I'm not that young any longer.

My longest day on a loopframe was going to the New Mexico national
rally. I think it was 1340 miles in 23 hours.
I did do a 950 mile day on the Eldo/Velo rig once, my arms were mush
after that.
I only rode 50k on loopframes and 120k on the T-3.
I bought the T-3 in April of 98 and my first loop in May of 99.
I do plan on doing Alaska again but this time on a loopframe. Hopefully
within 2 years.

As charlie said...JB (Weld) has everyone beat....hands down. If you
subscribe to the MGNOC Newsletter you will know. His runs are
legendary

and he writes about them. I can feel my butt getting sore as I read
his

 articles :-)

I think most of his miles are put on the RaT-3 though.....right JB?
What's the longest run on the Eldo JB?

My longest on the 69 Ambo was 600 miles in a day. My recent run to the
MD Rally was 1348 miles in 4 days. JB does that in a day I hear :-)
