Type I (beetle) or III(squareback/fastback) should work well being that a
type III generator is very interchangable with the loopframes.

Type III (Fastback/Squareback) or Beetle might be a better cross. On the generator belt, the NAPA #25 7300 (made by Gates) worked on my buddy's Bosch equipped Eldo, but not on Dave Otis' Norine.
