Hi Scott,
I believe the problem is one of clearance between the alternator and the
front fender. Unless you alter the steering head angle or otherwise
change the frame, they will hit. Cheers,

David, Thanks for all the great info, its just what I was looking for. One thing I don't understand though. Why do you have to use the Generator and not the alternator already on the motor? The alternator big twins had different front motor mounts and require welding on the frame. To put in the generator takes a small amount of drilling and tapping on the top of the motor plus a little adaptor made by Teo Lamers and sold in the states by Moto Int.
