I keep mine idling at 900-1000 rpms. It should die after 5 revs with one
cylinder disconnected while setting the idle speed, so it makes sense for it
to idle at a very slow, almost dyin' speed. Mine, once it's warmed up never
misses a beat at this idle speed.

After about 15 minutes I see the idle drops to 1000. still smooth but it really doesn't like to idle there, any slower and it will stop.
