Z,
Yeah, it's a bushing. On one lucky day my pal Kev found one for his Eldo at
the hardwear store. It was just a brass bushing that originally we thought
it had too small of an O.D. to keep that shifter from wobbling, but once
everything was together it tightened it right up. Doesn't have the lip on it
like the original plastic one but it don't seem to matter.
Kev

Maybe this helps. The shifter shaft has a black plastic collar on the
opposite end from the splines. Cant tell if it acts as a bushing or as a
way to hold sideways position.
I dont have any position problem with it.

I put about 100 miles on it and then re adjusted for the slack. seems okay now. The floppy shifter is buggin me. I used new pins on the rods and connectors and front to back it is pretty good. but side to side, the heel toe shifter flops pretty bad. any bushings, washers, bearings I can put in there to tighten it up? _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer athttp://explorer.msn.com |
