Has anyone had any experience with the splitfire plugs? What about the
Bosch 4 prong plug? The idea makes sense, but I know people who's cars have
run worse with them. Have only a few friends who have had a positive
experience with them. How 'bout y'all?
IMHO, I just prefer a good ol' NGK or Nippondenso.
Cheers!

Hi everyone,
I think I finally got my V700 running well again and not eating spark
plugs.
While trying to get the bike running well I had the oppurtunity to research
other brands of spark plugs, that cross from the NGK part number. I
thought this info
may be useful if at anytime you can't find NGK plugs as seems everyone
uses.
Here are the numbers: Split Fire SF426C, Champion 813, Nipondensco 385, and
Autolite 4252.
I could only locate the autolites and they seem to be working well,
after another round of carb adjusting
new plugs factory preset positions, I adjusted the right side in until the
bike started running rough then back 1/4
smoothed the running, then did the left side the same. I put about six
miles on the bike checked the plug
color, right was just turning tan left was a little darker thus I adjusted
in another 1/4 turn bike still seems to run smooth.
I have noticed that the exhuast smell that was predominant before is now
gone, was stinking the garage and me up :-)
Any way I will be putting some more miles on it and keeping a good check on
the plug color. Looks like I will be on the road
as the weather has been in the 70's here it really sucked wrenching and not
riding.
