Joe,

What's the serial number for your bike? I have one (A12147) that I think is
like yours. Left side shifter and steel spokes. Does your bike have 700
heads or 750 heads? Is the body work 700 or Ambo?

There was a period that the company was in between the V700 and the Ambos.
The first Ambos were actually 700's with 750 cylinders. They are denoted
with serial numbers that have an "A" in front of a five digit number. The
first two of these numbers start with 12xxx.

For your info...the V700's have 4 digit serial numbers. The Ambos after the
"A series" started with 13xxx and ran all the way to 22xxx. Eldos ran 51xxx
to 62xxx. This is the extent of my research to date.

I think that with the spokes it was just the type that they were using at
the time....likely cheaper than going with Stainless. I think they upgraded
to stainless in 70...at least my 70 Ambo has them.

Regards...Ian
