Tom,
In the old days it was quite common for manufacturers (especially Moto
Guzzi) to build a bike in one year and title it a year (or more) later.
This is of course illegal now. I would use whatever date is stated on your
title.
Regards...Ian

Subject: Model Year?
Got around to removing the nameplate on my Ambo frame today in preparation for powder coating. I hadn't paid any attention to it before, but the tag gives the date of manufacture as July 1969. Does this technically make my bike a '69 or is it as the title says, a '70? Did/does Guzzi switch model years mid stream like the American car companies or does the calendar date prevail when determining model year? Tom '70(?)
