I hear ya. and this ol gal has been used and abused by the worst sorts.
It was originally a cop t-3 (I hear) totally asphalt surfed on one side.
then painted over (!!) the tank had thre paint globbed on so thik it looked
like aligator skin. inderneath that was a huge bondoed knee dent. The seat
was soft foam over a plywood board with vinyl wrapped over it. no cushion at
all. and it soaked up rain. sidecovers absent, guages missing, headlight
bashed, brake lever busted off (ruinig the master cylinder) long strips of
chome coming off those gigantic mufflers (5-6" diameter 3/4" exhaust!)
entire electrical system missing.
but the motor ran strong. mighty.
so I paid the insane price and spent the next couple years just trying
tomake it road worthy. Only got about halfway there and started riding it
anyway.
Now she has a tractor light mounted on the top triple tree like an old timer
HD or something. ratty old T-3 cop seat. fishtails. only slightly better
paint. lovely beast.
