Brad, I had mark at mg classics do mine and it is surprsingly easy. You
need to take the front of the engine, timing cover with the mounting off
the old eldo and install it on the square fin. Mine was a cal 3 motor.
This allowed original mounting position and allowed use of the generator
which I liked because it is so servicable. Mark has an adaptor to mount
the pully to the crank on the new motor. One of the transmission studs
where it bolts to the engine has to be replaced with a bolt to clear the
newer carbs. The side panels must be trimmed just slightlly on the
front (not noticable at all)/ I updated mine with a dyna III and dyna
coils instead of points. Used pod air cleaners instead of stock. That's
all that I can think of. Sent you a couple of pics also. Stock swing
arm and mounting. This bike is fast and is too good for its brakes. It
handles well, is smoother than any guzzi I have ridden. Be sure to
check with mark as he had several people ride it before I could get to
Cali. Tom

someone out there has put a square fin engine into a loopframe, do you have any details? what swing arm is used and how does engine mount? is it alot of fabrication to mount engine & tranny? will a triple tree/fork from a Tonti fit? just dreamin up another project idea, thx, Brad ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!?
