I was chatting with Steve Ford at Parts-is-Parts about Eldorados today.
He is restoring a '74 disk civilian for a customer and just got a
bagfull of M12 1.5 nuts from his distributor. I needed one for my dash
plate and ordered some stainless stuff to impress him with my deep
pockets. After that breif transaction he asked me about a part he
needs.
He wants one of the nuts that screws down into the fork tube. It is
kind of an adapter piece that allows the "T" style damper to be used
with the taper top loop frame fork tubes.
I laughed when he asked about it as I believe it was unique to the
single year that the bike was made. My friendly neighborhood machinist
can make anything out of metal but I thought I would test the resources
of the group before commissioning a unique work of art.
